Glenloch Interchange - Side Facing Stud Earings
The Glenloch Interchange is a slightly confusing collection of roads and bridges at the intersection of William Hovell Drive, Parkes Way and The Tuggeranong Parkway - connecting North Canberra, South Canberra and Canberra City - below the base of Black Mountain.
I've driven through the interchange hundreds and hundreds of times - but recently, it has nearly been my undoing. Canberra still feels like home - and yet every time I visit, a few unexpected roads take me by surprise to make me realise things have changed.
I've accidentally ended up on Gungahlin drive, heading in completely the wrong direction with no chance of escape - and almost had a head-on collision in the dark, with a car driving on the wrong side of the road towards me. Clearly, I'm not the only one to find it confusing.
For a mess of roads that I never even knew had a name, it carries many memories.
